Can you use already dried flowers?
Absolutely! Pre-dried, old, discolored- any type of flowers can be turned into a keepsake. Pressed frame items are not an option for pre-dried flowers however a shadow box style frame will still capture their beauty. You will still need to fill out a preservation request form.
How will my pieces change over time?
Resin pieces: It is important to follow care techniques to preserve the quality and color of your block. Be sure to keep your block out of direct sunlight and away from constant heat sources. All resin, no matter the brand, will yellow over time and the care of the block is important to prevent this from happening quickly. PressedArrow will strive to use the best products and techniques available to prevent and minimize the yellowing of the resin but understand yellowing may happen to varying degrees over time.
Pressed florals: Dried flowers last best when kept out of direct sun and moisture. Over time, dried flowers and foliage will naturally fade in colour. From my experience I've found that red and yellow flowers normally have a longer expectancy as far as maintaining their original color. Greenery and leaves on the other hand tend to begin showing signs of fading earlier. Although overtime flowers lose their original color the shape and details of the flower itself will remain intact and beautiful when your preservation piece is cared for properly.
How far in advance should I book my preservation?
Preservations are first come first serve. I suggest you book your preservation once you have booked your venue. PressedArrow only takes on so many preservations each week so you don’t want to miss your chance. Filling out the preservation request form does not guarantee you a spot. Your spot is only held after you have sent in the request form, been contacted by PressedArrow and your deposit has been paid. If you are a customer with memorial flowers (other than a wedding) please reach out as soon as possible to arrange our services.
What happens with my leftover flowers?
PressedArrow does not return any unused florals unless specifically requested prior to delivery of fresh bouquets. Additional shipping charges may apply if remaining florals need to be shipped back. We will choose the best preserved florals for your final pieces. Please contact us for additional questions.
Will my flowers look the same dried as they did in my fresh bouquet?
Unfortunately, No. Not all flowers dry the same. Some flowers may alter in color or have “bruising” which can result in translucent spots on their petals when they are cast in resin. ”Bruising" can happen for a number of reasons between the growing and handling of flowers before they are ever delivered to us for preservation. Red flowers dry much darker than their original color. White flowers dry more of a cream color. Due to the nature of flowers, some may brown during the pressing process. (white roses especially). Some flowers will also get lighter while drying, especially light colored roses. Please remember not all flowers can be pressed, and colors will change during the pressing process, so I urge you to reach out in advance if you have any questions. Additionally, we can only preserve your flowers in the condition we receive them in so make sure to handle them appropriately. We strongly suggest you keep a vase of water close during your wedding day traveling, reception and after wedding to give your bouquet the much needed hydration it will need to stay in tip top shape.
Do you have a minimum order requirement?
For floral preservations, our minimum order requirement is $100 which is our deposit amount. You do not have to purchase a main piece for the order, however we highly encourage a main piece so that your bouquet is represented for the beauty it is. Add on pieces are only able to fit small florals, greenery and petals from larger florals.
How long does the process take?
My number one priority with your bouquet is QUALITY! I spend many hours on each step of the preservation process for every single order I have. I also put a cap on the amount of orders that I take on each week. With that being said my typical turnaround time is 6-9 months and turnaround times may increase during peak periods. I am a one woman business so please be patient as I take the utmost care of each order I work on. If you have questions regarding the ETA of your order please reach out via email however please know that the more messages I am responding to the less time I have to work on orders.
When does my order need to be finalized and paid for?
Final order is due one week prior to your wedding when we are discussing floral delivery arrangements. Final payment is due upon delivery of flowers. There are many forms of payment we accept. If you are interested in a multiple payment option please ask after we have verified availability and are discussing your deposit.
